Did you know that Santa has a summer cottage here in Val-David? He also comes here to rest up before and after his big day from the beginning of December until mid-January.
Santa opens up his home and his land for all his little friends. Those who are from 1-9 years old will love all that his has to offer – petting farm, pony rides, small water park, slides, trampolines, ziplines, bike tracks, train rides and much more!
He also invites you to bring along your own lunch or you can eat in his little restaurant. Large picnic areas are available for the whole family.

Just a few kilometers down the road from Santa, there is a special place called “wonderland”, where all the famous storybook characters pass their summers. Come meet Alice, the 3 pigs, little red riding hood, Snow White, Cinderella, the big bad wolf and many other characters as the welcome you into a world of fantasy.
Perfect for ages 2-8, there are many rides, water games, stories, blow-up games, farm animals and giant mazes.

Val-David is known across North America for its well established rock-climbing routes and community. Our chalets are located just at the base of the 77 routes (literally 200 metres from the closest one!) and access to the park is included with your chalet.

No matter what your level, you may also benefit from the Rock Climbing school. Established for over 30 years, they offer regular group lessons and private lessons for all levels. Aventure Nouveau Continent is the canoe/kayak rental company in Val-David offering rental packages on the Rivière du Nord. They provide you with all the equipment and basic training you need to descend 7.5 kilometres down the calm waters of the river. The trip is unguided so you can stop and swim or picnic along the way.
After your 1.5-2hr canoe ride, you will find yourself at the beautiful Lac Raymond (large lake). Here the company will meet with a shuttle bus. They will take the canoes/kayaks back to Val-David for you (so you do not have to paddle upstream!).
As for yourself, you may either take the shuttle ride back to Val-David or borrow one of their bicycles and return to town using the P’tit train du nord bike path. There is no rush to return the bikes and you can take your time with the 2km return.
This trip is well suited to any level of experience canoeing (very secure section), and any ages.

We offer bike rentals at preferential prices for our guests.

+ Helmet and padlock for each bike.
Rates: 2 hours for $ 5 + taxes / night for $ 10 + taxes (closing hours of reception: 5p.m. to 10am)
Works on the principle of first come, first served. Inquire at reception.
Roc & Ride is the bike rental company in town , they provide you a great selection of bikes (road bikes, hybrid, mountain and tandem). Rates start at just $10 per person per day. The bike rental shops are within walking distance.
Baby seats, child bike trailers, child bike attachments and children’s bike rentals are also available at Roc & Ride. Helmets are included with the rentals if desired.
The old railway bed from St-Jerome to Mont Laurier (200km) has been transformed into a linear bike path called the P’tit train du Nord. We are located at kilometer 42 of the park and our reception is just 20 metres from an access point.
The P’tit train du Nord is free to use in the summer time and whether you choose to explore north or south, you will be biking beside beautiful cascading falls, old forests and through the Laurentian landscape. The path is relatively flat and does not have more than a 2% grade, so is great for any level of bikers.
Just out the door of your chalet, there are 30km of well marked/maintained mountain bike and hiking trails. Visit the park website for more info
There are 3 biking circuits arranged around Val-David. These are paths along the roadsides that are secured by pylons.
Just out the door of your chalet, step onto the 30km of well marked hiking trails through the forest of the Val-David and Val-Morin Regional park (formerly known as Parc Dufresne.) There are beautiful lookouts, wild lakes, cascading falls, wildlife viewing opportunities (deer, rabbits, porcupine, birds, etc), and picnic places. Tip: don’t miss the sunsets from “aiguille”, a lookout just a 20 minute walk from Swiss Village (photo above was taken there). The trail map is found here. A quick 10 minute drive away in Ste-Adèle is the Parc Doncaster with its 10km of hiking trails set out along the Rivière du Nord. Dogs are welcome. For more information, visit their website here.
With 36km of trails around beautiful lakes in the forest, the Centre touristique in St-Faustin-Lac-Carré is worth the 30 minute drive. More information is here.
A 45 minute drive, the Parc National du Mont-Tremblant is not only the oldest park in Quebec, it is probably the most photographed as well. Discover incredible vistas, waterfalls and old forests along the 82km of hiking trails. Visit the SEPAQ website for more information on all the activities available in the park.
Just a 10 minute drive from the Swiss Village is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Laurentians. At Lac des Sables in Ste-Agathe-des-Monts, you will find 3 beautiful large sandy beaches. The water is fresh and clean and the lake entrance is gradual. There are many services at the lake such as:

Access to the trails in Parc Dufresne is included in your rental.
Just across the street from us, this is a 200km linear park with 40km reserved for cross-country skiing. We are lucky enough to be at kilometre 42 of this beautiful trail. The path is groomed for both classic and skate skiing. The Linear Park also connects to various other smaller ski networks in Val-Morin, Ste-Adèle and Piedmont. Access to the park costs $12/person/day.
Whether you have never tried before, or are an avid snowshoer, we have beautiful trails for you. You can put on your snowshoes in your chalet and leave onto 30km of trails. In Parc Dufrense, just behind our chalets, you will find:
