Skating in Val-David, Laurentians

Outdoor skating rinks are such a wonderful part of the Québec winter!  We actually have 3 of them in our little town.  Just in Val-David, you will find:

  • hockey rink (games of shinny non-stop!) (Leonidas- Dufresne Park)
  • mini-hockey for children up to 10 years old (Leonidas- Dufresne Park)
  • large free-skate rink (Leonidas- Dufresne Park)
  • Hockey on the Lake Paquin park

Just a quick 2 blocks from our chalets, the rinks are illuminated at night and there are heated shelters for changing your skates ( open 9am to 10pm).  They are all free access and open to everyone!   You can rent skates for $7/person in the Roc n’Ride shop.

In our surrounding area, there are some other wonderful skating options.  Here are 3 of our favorites:

  • 1km skating loop on Lac des Sables in Ste-Agathe-des-Monts  (10 min drive)
  • 8km skating loop on Lac Masson in St-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson (20 min drive)
  • 2km skating trail in the forest in St-Sauveur (15 min drive)
